Accessibility & Inclusion

Fostering an equitable and barrier-free learning environment for every member of our community.

Our Institutional Commitment

The Academy of Labor and Social Relations affirms that a diverse and inclusive environment is essential to academic excellence. We are committed to providing equal access and opportunity to all qualified individuals in accordance with the laws of the Kyrgyz Republic and our own institutional values.

Our practices are guided by the principles of universal design and a proactive approach to removing barriers.

Equity

Striving to provide equitable opportunities for all individuals to participate in and benefit from the university's programs and activities.

Collaboration

Working collaboratively with students, faculty, and staff to develop and implement effective accessibility solutions.

Proactivity

Anticipating and removing barriers in our physical and digital environments before they become an issue for our community members.

The Accommodation Process

We provide a confidential, interactive process for students to request reasonable academic accommodations.

Step 1: Initial Contact & Documentation

The process begins when a student contacts the Accessibility Services Office. We encourage students to provide current documentation from a qualified professional that describes the nature of the disability and its impact in an academic setting.

Step 2: Interactive Intake Meeting

The student meets with an Accessibility Advisor for a confidential intake meeting. This is a collaborative conversation to understand the student's experiences, discuss potential barriers, and explore appropriate accommodations.

Step 3: Accommodation Planning

Based on the meeting, the advisor determines reasonable accommodations and creates an official Accommodation Letter for the student to share with their instructors. This letter outlines the approved accommodations without disclosing the specific disability.

Step 4: Implementation & Ongoing Support

The Accessibility Services Office remains a resource for both students and faculty throughout the academic year for any questions, concerns, or adjustments needed to ensure accommodations are effective.
